Hand Stitches for Mending Sept. 28, Oct. 5 & 12, 2-4pm
Hand Stitches for Mending Sept. 28, Oct. 5 & 12, 2-4pm
In this three part class we'll explore a world of practical and useful hand-stitching techniques that can be used for all kinds of mending and embellishment. Throughout the course I'll demonstrate 11 hand stitching techniques from visible to invisible mending, how to apply the stitches for various uses, and share tips and tricks for long-lasting, strong, and functional repairs.
The class is broken into three parts. In each session you will learn a handful of stitches, and discuss your own garments to see how we can apply the ideas used in our class sampler onto your textiles. My goal with this class is to provide a foundation for your growing mending practice.
Not all rips and tears are the same, so your approach might change based on the material, scale and site of the damage. This class designed for you to experiment with many stitches that can be used in all your future mending projects.
Space is limited. Class is held via Zoom over two subsequent Saturday afternoons. Each class will be recorded and shared after class. Please double check your email is correct at checkout.
